Mariah Clogston
Mariah Clogston (`18) is a journalist for the BFA Mercury. Clogston has many unique and interesting connections to BFA. Not only does Clogston attend the school, but her uncle participated in transforming the hospital into what is now the North building. Her uncles and mother all went to BFA, and she has a brother who attends the school now. Her previous education includes going to Saint Albans City School (SACS), where they attempted to prepare her for high school. Clogston’s interests include: dance, music, and reading. She fulfills her happiness through dance in the class at BFA, which is a great program in her eyes. She describes herself as a “huge nerd” who could talk about Harry Potter for hours, which is an unknown and unique fact about her. The future Clogston has decided to pursue is a career as a math teacher. One of Clogston’s biggest inspirations and role models is her grandmother. She explains how she has had family troubles since she was in sixth grade, and her grandmother has always been there for her. “She’s basically the one person who motivates me to keep going, and she tells me I’m a better person than I see myself as and [she] believes I can do great things.”
