On Dec. 20 from 4:30-6:00 p.m., during a blustery snowy evening, the Fairfield Recreation Department held a drive-thru holiday light display.  It began at Fairfield Center School, off Route 36, and continued past the Bent Northrop Memorial Library.  Rebecca Chomyn, who works for the Recreation Department, played a large role in gathering holiday decorations to borrow from community members for the display as well as designing the layout for the event.

The Fairfield Recreation Park’s gazebo was covered with lights, and it held a Christmas tree inside.  Several of the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department’s trucks were lit up and decorated for the event, and there were various cute inflatables.  Plus, the playing field was lined with lights.  Santa Claus waved goodbye as visitors exited the parade.  BFA English teacher Larissa Hebert attended the event with her family (husband, Thomas, and daughter, Ella, age 8).  They unanimously agreed that their favorite part of the display was the lit-up gazebo.
