Mimmos is located at 22 South Main Street in St. Albans, Vermont. When you walk in, you are instantly greeted with the smell of Italian food in the restaurant. To your left, you can see the employees making the pizzas and the ovens in the front. To the right, you have a line of booths down to the restaurant’s end. Mimmos service is almost always spectacular. I’ve always been greeted within 10 seconds of walking in, and the waiters and waitresses regularly check to make sure your needs are met. When you are speaking with the servers it feels like a real conversation and they’re actually listening, which isn’t always commonly found in food service.
The wait for your food is also not very long, and it has an ideal cleanliness to it. In the spring, summer, and beginning of fall, Mimmos has indoor and outdoor seating with moderate noise. It’s a restaurant where you can wear casual clothes, or dress semi-formal. Mimmos is also an ample choice if you have a big group of people with you. They offer rooms for private parties and delivery, and they sell their pizza dough if you want the taste of their dough with your home-cooked pizza. All of these aspects are unique only to Mimmos and what contributes to its popularity. Mimmos also provides a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. When Mimmos workers can see that you are eating with a child, they offer a unique experience by giving the child dough to roll around and play with.
They have a wide variety of Italian food such as pasta, calzones, pizza, salad, and chicken parmigiana. Their calzones are one of the more popular items on their menu. It has a golden-like crust on the outside with an exquisite combination of flavors on the inside. Despite Mimmos being best known for their pizza, their other dishes are just as up to par. The restaurant has a 4-star rating and is open Monday through Saturday.
My favorite meal on Mimmo’s menu is their buffalo chicken pizza, which also happens to be one of the most popular items on the menu. Every time I come back from a road trip, or just out with my friends, Mimmos is our go-to place. The crust is crispy, with good-sized chunks of chicken, and buffalo sauce drizzled over the top of the slice. Their pizzas are also sufficiently sized for two to three people to be adequately fed. Not only the pizza, but Mimmos has fulfilling portions for every dish they serve. I would give Mimmo’s a four-and-a-half star rating due to its variety of authentic-tasting Italian food, impeccable service, and location.
