The leaves change colors

from green to red,

and fall off of their branches

onto the thick grass.

It is 40 degrees outside,

the breeze blows softly

and the fireplace is so cozy.

I love it here.

The winter will arrive soon,

the snow will cover the grass

until April arrives

when it melts away.

Then comes summer,

when we jump in the lake

and let the sun

soak into our skin once again.

The seasons fly by our eyes,

and the cycle never ends.

It continues to repeat year after year.

This is Vermont.
