Slip and Slide by Liam DeGraff (’21)
January 7, 2021
It was slippy and slidey just like that fateful day.
I am now fully sideways on this road.
All my tires have lost traction, not a single one has grip.
The fate of this car is at my fingertips.
I turn into the corner and floor the gas
as people watch through a spyglass,
analyzing my every move,
yelling at me, telling me how to improve.
They see me sliding towards the edge,
but can’t do anything as I hit the hedge.
They all run over to see if I am okay.
I’m just upset I put on such a terrible display.
