BFA has a brand new student-run mobile spirit wear store. They have just started their store this year, and have had their grand opening on September 11 at a Bobwhites soccer game. They are selling BFA merchandise at sporting events and other local events.
After the school decided to change the way student leadership is run, Ms. Tourville had the idea for a school store, and felt it was a good time to start. She wanted the store to be student-led, so she took on three student managers who helped run the store at games, check inventory, help come up with new ideas, and anything else the store may need.
The Boosters gave the Spirit Wear store the money to be able to start the business this year. “We had a lot of really great feedback and support from the community on our first sale, and people gave me some great ideas for what they’d like to see in future,” said Tourville. Their goal is to be at as many games as possible, as well as events such as parent nights and open houses. They are also planning on selling at band and theater events.
Currently, they are selling sweatshirts, crewnecks, men’s and women’s t-shirts, baseball hats, winter hats, and blankets. There are plans to expand the store’s merchandise as time continues, such as lanyards, keychains, stickers, stadium seats, umbrellas, etc.
All of the profits from the store will go towards the school. “Things that the school needs money for every year include prom and other school dances; Plus we also do the senior gift every year and project graduation, etc.” Tourville said.
For more information on the store, follow the Spirit Wear Instagram (@bfaspiritstore) or any other BFA social media pages. They can be found by the concession stands during games. The current payment options are cash, check, or Venmo, but card payments will be available in the future.
