One debated question among breakfast lovers and enthusiasts alike is always, “What are the best breakfast options?” and one of those answers is the modern-day omelette! If you’ve never had an omelette, it is a meal made with eggs and add-ons like meats, vegetables, and cheese! The omelette is folded over itself to keep the meats and cheese on the inside to melt! The aroma depends on the toppings, but is almost always faint and pleasant! The taste should mix all the cheese, egg, and other toppings extraordinarily, and give you a taste of everything in one bite! The texture could be a bit crisp on the edge, for the diner style, or soft and fluffy for the French style!
On a personal note, my dad has always made omelettes, and my mom as well; it’s always been nice to help with the making (and especially eating) of them! It’s something we love to have for breakfast, or even dinner, and I’ve grown up loving it! When I first tried to make an omelette, I ended up just breaking it and spilling all the toppings. Long story short, we had an egg scramble that day instead.
What really sets an omelet apart from any other contender in breakfast is the endless variety and possibilities you can have with it; you could have onions, cheese, and sausage! Or you could replace any of the meat with ham, or have a vegetarian version! You can even have a plain omelette with just egg!
If you’re a gym-loving fanatic, you could make it with egg whites! The only drawback is that it is always comprised of egg, so I wouldn’t have it every day for breakfast, as you’d eventually get sick of it. However, you can also make it in several different styles!
Early Omelettes were likely from Persia or Rome, and were called ovemele which stood for (eggs with honey). There are many different ways to make it, such as Roman style, French, or Diner style, to name a few! In fact, a popular legend says that Napoleon Bonaparte (not dynamite) stayed in the town of Bessières, had such a good omelette that he ordered enough eggs to make a giant omelette for his army!
I absolutely love Omelettes, and I think anyone should try one if they haven’t! If you like eggs and make them well, I promise you won’t regret it! It has variety, and taste in one, along with portion sizes being easy based on eggs! If any of this sounds appealing, try an omelet!
5/5 stars for taste!
5/5 stars for cost!
⅘ stars for difficulty
