On Monday, September 23rd, 2024 questions were asked about senior parking.

Why should seniors have their parking lot? Most teens must arrive an hour early to find or get a parking spot. Some joys come with senior parking as it’s the final year of high school. Unfortunately, BFA Saint Albans doesn’t have enough space for senior parking.

Violet Hisman, a senior, believes seniors should have their own parking lot as it serves as a reward for the final year of high school.
“Senior parking also can help with time management, many of us have jobs and internships, and having that dedicated time will help.”

Addison Finnegan, a senior, speaks out on her thoughts on the senior parking lot.
“It’s a shame that seniors do not have the opportunity to have parking on campus.”
She explains that, they stretch for us to succeed but it’s a good way for teachers to compromise with students. “If we had a parking lot we would be able to paint a parking spot like other schools.”

Molly Clark, a senior, also spoke out about parking. Molly says, “seniors should at least have a parking spot and there are ways we could figure it out because there are empty spots most days.”

Dennis Ward, school safety security. Said, “we would love to give that kind of opportunity being the last year, but we don’t have enough space. We are in the city and being limited to that space makes it hard. We do have a senior lottery where students have a chance to win a spot. We can go to city hall and get a parking pass as well, there is also space in the parking garage. It’s hard but we just don’t have that kind of ability.”

Nate Archambault, a teacher, thinks it would be nice to have senior parking, parking for seniors is difficult and adds stress when not being able to find a spot, and having a parking lot would help keep that under control. “As far as high school goes it’s a unique problem because you go to other places where there’s parking and we don’t, and the problem is we won’t unfortunately”

Unfortunately, this problem will remain a problem without enough parking.
